I'm prior Navy with 1 wounded soldier from Iraq and 1 still serving. Marines are tough know quite a few of them. Some people can handle it and others aren't when it comes to military lives and deployments. Military is a good life. But I might be bias. Think is this what I want to do or go to college, get an education and go into OCS (officers cand school). That gives you some time to see if it's what you truly want, if? it is you make more money as an Officer.

My grandfather was in the military for over 25 years (Canadian Green Beret), was in combat in the Belgian Congo (along with various other places in Africa), Vietnam (early 60's), Nicaragua, stationed in Egypt for an amount of time and other places. He had 3 boys, one of them being my father, and told them all do not join the military unless you are serious about. I assume your young, think before you commit. This is the internet

That is where you are wrong. Once we captured Owkinowa (an island near Japan) we were advancing closer? to Japan. They fortified their beaches. The bomb we dropped was only suppose to take out the bases and yes some civilans. The "Little Boy" was dropped on Hiroshima was not as powerful as the first the reason it did so much damage was because Hiroshima is like a bowl so all the gases and the energy was contained therefor more devestating. We paid for it all to be rebuilt though.
